Some Changes in the Transport Office Team!

We’ve recently seen some changes in our Office Team, with some ‘congratulations’ in order!

Tom Mortimer has recently been promoted from Operations Supervisor to Group Transport Manager – Congratulations Tom! Tom first joined Platts Transport back in 2021 as a Class 2 Driver, delivering animal bedding for sister-company Platts Agriculture Nationwide across the UK.

Within 6 months of being at the company Tom had made his way into the office after being offered the role of Operations Supervisor. Tom’s Prior jobs at Tesco in various roles gave him a wealth of experience in people management, KPI’s and customer service. His experience means you will get the best customer service from the Transport Team when booking in your deliveries or enquiring about haulage. Tom’s role as Group Transport Manager is to make sure all drivers, vehicles and trailers are compliant, ensuring safety of all road users. As part of his role, he works closely with Platts Commercial Services to book in all maintenance and repairs and keep the fleet roadworthy. 

We would also like to welcome our New Operations Supervisor Sarah Yardley. Sarah joined the Platts Transport Team at the end of the 2022, having worked for 3 years in a similar role locally. She brings a wealth of experience in Operations, Compliance and Administration having 21 years’ experience in the industry. As Operations Supervisor, Sarah supports the link between Transport and the Operations side of the sister-company Platts Agriculture, and collaborating with Platts Commercial Services to make sure everything runs smoothly with our lorries and trailers across the company. 

They’re still joined by our long-standing Transport Planner Gary, who you’ve likely spoken with on the phone!
