Platts HGV Visit with Mark to Sunray Day Care Nursery

We recently took a trip down to Sunray Day Care Nursery, local to our Wrexham HQ, to show the children one of our Volvo FH 500’s lorries. The children have recently been learning about different modes of transport at nursery, including lorries! You can never start them too young! Surely there’s no better way to learn what a lorry looks like other than seeing one in person!? Our Marketing Assistant Cameron, along with Mark from our HGV visited the nursery, where his partner works, and their daughter attends. The children were over the moon to see the lorry pulling in to their car park, running towards the fence to have a closer look as they arrived!

Mark gave the children a quick tour around the lorry with plenty of opportunities for them to have some photos and ask questions about different parts of the lorries, along with examples of the types of loads Platts transport across the UK. Some of the children (and staff!) were amazed by the sheer size of the tyres on the truck!  One by one, the children were allowed to have photos in the driver’s seat and to experience how high up a HGV driver sits when driving the lorries.

We would like to thank our driver Mark for his time, Sunray Day Car Nursery for getting in touch, and the wider team at Platts Transport for making this happen! Here’s a few photos from the day and if you want to see a short video of our day out to the nursery, click here.
